That was definitely the last big funny movie imo. I remember my dad wanted to see Neighbors 2 and halfway through we were both like

I don’t know what you could talking about for 1985. Only funny movies I remember are Breakfast Club and Goonies.

Weird Science, Better Off Dead, Summer Rental, Real Genius, The Goonies, Desperately Seeking Susan, Spies Like Us, Back to the Future, European Vacation. Plus some great horror comedies

As much as I love these movies I think they basically ruined horror for the next 14 years.

Maybe. I’m still a big fan of late 80s - mid 90s horror though

Me too. I’m just talking about the general attitude of the genre. There’s plenty of horror films in that period of time that I love.

Haven’t heard it but I’m looking forward to the accompanying film Refn, Noe, and Korine all worked on.

Feels weird not putting any Nick Cave on my list at all since I've claimed him the GOAT so many times but I really do think my favorite 6 or 7 records of his came pre 2000. Still good records in the 21st century but imo not holding a candle to peak Bad Seeds

  • Wish the Lyre of Orpheus was as good as Abattoir Blues then it would make my list

Drake sounds like a parody of himself at this point. Wheelchair Jimmy is dead.
