FellaWith the writers and actors strikes on top of all of these big blockbusters bombing—I’m really hoping there’s a New “New Hollywood” around the corner. This is all eerily similar to what happened to the studios in the 60’s. There’s even a big dumb Cleopatra movie in production.
I wanna believe this, but I feel like there’s not really a good crop of young, innovative directors to take advantage of more artistic freedom like there was in the mid-late 60s.

They do and I’m excited for those, but I also want the broader landscape of film to reflect more of that.
