Did you hate that one too?
I dislike one movie and now that's my standard?
@RVI after my first few listens of American Heartbreak a few weeks ago i knew that it would def end up being on my 21st century vote list.
But since then, no exaggeration, it is literally the only music i have listened to ever since i first chatted with you about last month. Now im pretty sure its not only gonna appear on my voting list, it damn well might crack my top 15
Album is so damn good. Not a single bad track. Only songs I ever skip are the You Are My Sunshine cover and Whiskey Fever — the former I skip cause i wanna hurry up and hear Darling and Ninth Cloud lol; the latter is just something i gotta be in the mood to play. Neither are remotely bad by any means tho.
I can listen to the album front to back on repeat all day, but i also gotta say that Late July - She's Alright is probably one of the strongest opening runs in an album this century for me. If You Are My Sunshine didnt exist, then I would extend that to Late July - Highway Boys. Those first 6 songs in particular are astounding back to back quality, which is really saying something considering how great the ones after them still are.

real
its probably cracking my all time top 15 at this point
and agree about the opening run of 6 tracks especially. i think thats the first side of the vinyl release too, such a perfect run of tracks. all 10/10. a lot of the songs in the latter half are still growing on me too like The Good I'll Do, Someday (Maggie's) and Blue. the only song i'd cut would be You Are My Sunshine. i think the 2 other weakest are Half Grown and High Beams but those are still really good. Compiling a 20 song tracklist of it could be insane but i'd still hesitate to say its better than the whole thing because i think the length contributes to how it works so well
you listen to the rest of his 2022 releases too yet? + the one 2023 single. hoping that he'll drop again in a few months, he said on twitter the next album is only 11 tracks

I listened to his other probects only once or twice so far but havent revisited yet, but plan to soon.
And damn if he can make 30+ songs so good i cant wait for a condensed follow up to American Heartbreak. I know hos earlier albums/EPs are only a dozen songs or less, but the jump in quality between those and AH is big, so im hoping a new 11 song album will be insane
The guy on the passenger side in the Highway Boys single cover art tho

this show is amazing
You seen The Thick of It?
Nah what's that?
British comedy. Had a spin off movie called in the loop and an American adaptation called Veep with Elaine from Seinfeld. I brought it up because one of the writers from the show created Succession.

Oh it's probably good then. I was wondering if any of the writers on Succession also wrote for The Sopranos cause the casual dark comedy is so similar.

It’s crazy how hard it is to find the names of everyone on a writing staff. They keep that s*** secret fr.
