Villeneuve
1. Prisoners
2. Enemy
3. Blade Runner 2049
4. Incendies
5. Arrival
6. Dune (waiting for part 2 tho to watch it as one film)
Dune and Blade Runner were nice to look at and all around good but I feel like with those settings those movies should be f***ing insane, and they weren’t

When everybody was raving about Sicario and Arrival I was kinda anti-Villaneuve but the pacing and aesthetic of BR and Dune are so f***ing
adding some "fucking insanity" would just ruin it
he's way way above that godzilla guy for me

he sure is. Monsters is Edward's best and I'd still take BR49 over it.

Insane how? Dune’s mythology made the intense parts even better

I meant insane in terms of being crazy good not bizarre over the top-ness or whatever
I agree the aesthetics are always on point though

The stuff with the kids and the clones and the girl were very tender and touching and pretty interesting.
The stuff with the ultraviolent replicant chick is amazingly brutal.
Could've skipped the Harrison Ford and Jared Leto bits tbh they kinda pulled me out of the experience.

Yeah I saw
Fletcher hasn't even been gone a year
Tbh the first time I saw them was in Prague which was the first European city my best friend and I ever visited. we got matching Violator tattoos to commemorate the event. Kinda feel like seeing them again would just dilute how special that experience was, especially now that Andrews gone.

You need to watch The Forbidden Room for your bizarre over the top-ness insanity haha would actually like to know your thoughts on this flick
@Riffwanker still hasn't recovered from it haha
It’s interesting cause the documentary goes over this exact kind of emotional illogical reaction. You’re essentially saying “this guy did something totally legal but very strange based on our cultural standards, therefor it’s not worth examining the moral horror he’s being accused of”. Marrying someone in their 20’s regardless of who they are isn’t related to supposedly molesting a 6 year old. Also her being his adopted daughter in the way it’s implied isn’t quite true either. He hardly ever interacted with her. There was no grooming or anything of the sort. But then again the details of that are irrelevant. I don’t even like Woody Allen as a filmmaker—so I have no investment in this. I just stumbled upon that documentary and I think the details speak for themselves. Everybody deserves their day in court and he’s had it and been found innocent multiple times.
"i don't even like Woody Allen as a filmmaker"
this you?
