i do accept GKMC as a great album but im still just waiting for the effect of overplay/associating with my high school years to wear off. that's like the only album that hasn't worn off for yet

pretty sure MBDTF was like #15 or something at one point and a few of his others were top 100. along with being one of the most rated artists on the site. definitely qualifies as a RYM darling honestly it just doesnt outweigh how much of a darling he is/was with music nerds in general

just checked and he's still got #28 (4.09), #59 (4.08), #107 (4.01), #309, #517 which is likely one of the stronger showings from an artist

not sure. i think its still good tbh and better than tyler's other stuff, i think people form an emotional connection with it too that I don't relate to but I understand zoomers liking it

i think its a good album. but in a few years the overall top chart is going to look indistinguishable from browsing tiktok feed of people's top favorite albums ever which is boring af.

site is always going to be god tier at discovering any lesser known music, i havent had any use for the top charts in years now

They tried to fix the top charts with a new algorithm last year but it honestly it’s worse than it was before
