its more about the overall scene and one favorite artist wouldnt push either over the edge for me. and seems like the scene down there might have been better. im talking pitting their top 100 albums against each other

also wouldnt be surprised if i ended up valuing of the entire oeuvre of one of those goats over Band even though their short prime is top tier to me. it would be more of a comparison of Neil Young type figures if anything

why would it be the language already listen to lots of this stuff

just nothing remotely appealing about that singer or production. repellant tbh. if it was english my s***ty towns radio station wouldve played it all day.

what about any latin alternative type stuff then? not even talking just argentina anymore cuz it seems they were more into the striaght up rock thing than the rest of the countries

funny enough Coldplay covered that song when they played in Buenos Aires (he sounds ridiculous)

that Cerati guy is a really great singer to me though not a heavy RAWK singer tho but also have to keep in mind they basically started off as a Police wannabe band, big pop element was always there

i think i might be more acclimated to mexican music than you tbf i might start diving into the super cheesy s*** my mexican friend was showing me

and i also agree with you to an extent about being bored when they just copy the anglo sounds directly and not do anything new but i think a lot of these guys were originals to and it still has a latin american aspect, just more subtle than the f***in jaivas trying to use actual indigenous stuff. political context important too even tho i cant understand too many lyrics i can still get a different feeling and weight in the music. There was some big band that literally just half-covered Like a Hurricane cuz their audience didnt know it and that turned me off so I didnt even bother checking them out at all

yeah youre southern californian so you definitely are more acclimated. Los Saicos were amazing but even the The Clash can annoy me when they do that type of trumpet punk s***.
