Do you know the story of the band at all? It was risky enough to be a long hair on either coast in '65-'66 but the fact that they were doing it down in Texas made them a gargantuan target for the fuzz and rednecks. If you've seen Easy Rider you know what it was like down there and ironically Jack Nicholson also kinda played out their lead singers tragedy again in One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest (not a lobotomy though just extreme amounts of shock therapy). Man got caught with one f***ing joint and claimed insanity instead of going to jail and was never mentally sound again

One of my best friends from early high school who spent most of our adult life a junkie, in and out of jail stealing cars and s*** finally cleaned up his act this year and had a daughter. then he got in a drunk domestic with his partner, tore out of his house in his truck flipped it a couple blocks away onto a couple east Indian ladies that had just got off nightshift and were waiting for the bus. One of them crippled and they other was killed
