Can’t believe you had me debating problematic art lol. In the future I won’t take your bait.

Thought it was your favorite pastime

Tbh though it was only half bait cause I genuinely try to understand the way you process art but I'm unable to word it without you threatening to leave ktt lol. And you're unable to explain it in a way thats simple enough for me to understand.

This idea that I like debating is so annoying. It’s one of the most stressful things I can think of. I think you’re smart enough to get what I’m saying most of the time. You’re smarter than me honestly.

I’ve been loving all of Ryan Adam’s new stuff. It’s incredible he put out 5 albums last year including double album and they were all pretty good. He also just dropped a full cover of Nebraska (my favorite Springsteen album).

thank you for mentioning her. She is easily one of the best vocalists of the decade (maybe even Top 5 for me) imo and she is somehow sidelined in all that discussion.

Swap Tina for Mariah and Nina for Beyoncé and I could live with that Top 10.
also, what do you think about Lennon being so high?

Lennon has one of the all time most iconic rock and roll voices was obvious from Twist & Shout and Baby It's You from their debut he had a power, texture and nuanced touch nobody else in the UK would approach for half a decade. Paul says in the early days he was like Elvis and they were all in awe of him and it's easy to imagine why.

The big difference between r&b singers who have trained their whole lives basically and rock and roll singers who were never taught how to sing but are able to come up with awesome songs is the ability to come up catchy melodies and melodic earworms and on that scale he is unparalleled. His own self-consciousness about his voice always forced George Martin to alter it with overdubs and oscillators which just adds to its otherworldliness.

Nah I have good taste and know alot of history but as soon as your guys start debating post modernism (still don't know what that is) and s*** I remember im a numbskull d*** dealer that has no idea what he's talking about really. There's just a wall that appears in the conversation I'm unable to engage beyond.

I’m not even an expert on any of that stuff. I just conveniently take what I want from it lol

Well you're pretty good at sounding like you know what you're talking about and I would never remotely admit this if it wasn't true but your reviews themselves are approaching the territory of art/poetry without sounding pretentious I could never pull that off.

I think it's a combination of me being weaned on things like Mizoguchi and Ophuls and other tender sensitive artists who's films convey a ton of warmth in my early cinema obsession days and the fact that I've already basked in enough wretched hives of scum and villiany in real life that nasty pieces of filmmaking like Dressed To Kill (and alot of gaillo) do absolutely nothing for me. Pretty rare for me appreciate such mean spirited stuff.

He said Pat Travers is his favorite guitarist

Never heard of him but looks like your typical Canadian rocker dad
