Have you guys noticed how most of the people from Yesterday's Papers are super dismissive of R&B other than real ass Steve Marriot almost all of them are literally like "oh, Motown they do the same old thing it's boring now" or "Otis Redding this is terrible he's just yelling"

I think certain people are just way more dismissive of what’s going on around them in their day artistically. It takes distance to really appreciate it for them.

They were more attentive and respectful to the other genres they heard I've definitely noticed that hardly anybody was recognizing how cutting edge Motown remained. Shows you a side of history the books don't.

Those losers got their whole sound off black musicians and were butthurt they were progressing into new sounds and genres while they were still just riding the coattails of their sounds 20-30 years older at the time

Some esteemed documentarian just released a big thing on BBC and it's just a really sad but kinda peaceful portrayal of the collapse of the Soviet Union sorta goes into the history of the oligarchs but is mostly slices of everyday life that come across almost like early wes Anderson or Napoleon Dynamite or something in their quiet absurdity. Been falling asleep to it all week lol.
