A girl showed me this video when I was like 17 and I was like "what the f*** is this?
"
But then I kept going back to it and eventually listened to Either/Or and the self titled and I was hooked from then on. Him and Dylan hit right around the same time for me when I was (mostly) only interested in stuff that made my head explode.
gone too soon man...i truly believe if From A Basement On The Hill was properly finished it would've been his best album
now that i think about it, you're dead on about Oasis. why the f*** did this never occur to me
i am in a very happy relationship rn but to say that i don't feel anything whenever i hear this song would be a flat out lie
my partner has the same Ferdinand tattoo as Elliott, they're a big big fan
Yeah I never liked XO and Figure 8 as much as what came before it (and after with Basement) but that song is definitely a gem. Baby Britain's really good, and Happiness. His last album is so f***ing sad to listen to. It's so chaotic. The dude sounds so ready to check out and the footage from that era is painful to watch even when he was killing it musically.

I have all his albums but this is the first footage I've seen
whoa

I wish it was but I still love it as it is. Basement reminds me of the Pumpkins' Machina albums in a lot of ways. Both are really raw and chaotic and kinda psychedelic, but also unpolished but that's what I like about them. A lot of people s*** on the production of those albums but it adds to the flavor imo

You've never seen videos of him? His live s*** is generally really good

yep i've seen several of his concerts during his last days on youtube and they're heartbreaking...especially when he plays "long, long, long"....jesus

post some more
Elliott was also a very underrated guitar player. he had that Lindsey Buckingham-esque way of playing rhythm and lead(though not as flashy)
That Alex G record is probably the best album of the year so far after only one listen. Others have higher highs for me but just overall as a piece it’s really captivating. Flawlessly incorporates elements from everything going on the last decade or so musically. Neopsychedelia, Indie Folk, Alt Country, little bit of Synthwave in parts, Bedroom Pop, and even what’s been going in Hip-Hop and R&B. Somehow it’s all cohesive and confident.

Either/Or will always be my favorite and I think XO is probably his weakest for feeing more like a transitional record (still great), but Figure 8 continues to grow on me. I think he really pulls off that fuller sound on there. I adore this one.

Never heard that one but I love Healing Is A Miracle from a few years ago
What a jam
I was late to this album but the whole thing rules. The new one is kinda lame in comparison
