You’re acting like MCR is a respected band who’s legacy is being tainted. They’re the butt of a million jokes. Twenty One Pilots at least has an album that even Aruji The Wise thinks is good and was pretty well received even by their biggest haters. Whatever the case I think Cigarettes After S***or some actual modern dream pop artist should do a solid cover. I like the melody, I just find the execution in the original obnoxious.

in the last year or so there have been over a dozen articles posted on music publications about how The Black Parade was a masterpiece. The band wasn't always well respected but they have become in the last few years.

MCR should basically be made for me. I like emo, I like 2000’s power pop, I even like melodramatic alt s*** like Muse from around then, and I like most of MCR’s influences.
