I still think everybody hit their peak on the song Waiting For The Sun

Wish the Guitar solo ended the song
Had some real meat to it

check out the lyrics for this song (Bruce D***inson-less Maiden)

    https://genius.com/Iron-maiden-the-angel-and-the-gambler-lyrics

ive never even bothered to listen but i saw someone crunch the numbers and the repeating chorus literally makes up a whole 5 minutes or something insane like that

That's even more times than Jim repeats the phrase Waiting For The Sun :elon: sometimes it works

  • Jul 25, 2022

General consensus not wrong about Peace Frog being a pretty good contender for most astonishing solo

some of Ray's keyboards sounds in 1968 rubbed me the wrong way, i would like waiting for the sun song and album both more if some things were tweaked

So good that I almost started taking them for granted as I dove deeper and deeper into other bands that lasted longer but yes I love them a lot. They got three songs I put in my top 100. Crystal Ship being the third.

one of my first thoughts when Nick played From Her To Eternity was "wow this is what it must have felt like to witness Jim Morrison live".

im surprised you never heard of it considering its legacy. Not to Touch the Earth was the part of it with a finished studio version

I dont really love it as a whole (or any of their live material) but ive seen people uphold it as a big example of Morrison's myth

around 68. It's easily the most dissonant Doors song and thrives off Morrison leading through the song with his story and vocal histrionics

like I said Not to Touch the Earth was the good part of it imo. i think if they finished it and polished up a studio version it could have been a decently potent long epic, still not as good as the previous two tho. also would have been better in person and witnessing morrison

i never had much interest listening to their live recordings, would have been a great band to see in person but i think the live stuff is lacking a lot of the times. Ray tried to do the keyboard bass as a replacement for a bass player but i never thought it worked that much and they didnt have as much punch and fullness as they should have live
