"Away from You washes up on a post-apocalyptic beach, pushed by the rabid frothing waves of Boris' rigid drone metal into the sinister arms of their chthonic collaborator. Oddments of human-sculpted metallic shrapnel dot the black ashen shores, and as the shadow of Merzbow looms larger and darker over the coast, these scattered shards of buckshot come alive and slither along the volcanic sands to pierce flesh and skin. Even the once-catchy To the Beach has been taken under the flesh-eating poisoned machetes of the noise titan and battered into submission as if put through the meat mincer at a slaughterhouse in the underworld."

Reviewers that write like this are so dumb. talk like a real person you a******

I mean this is kind of how I would picture some of the geekier larpish metal heads to self monologue

He was early 30s, like Future

Ancient compared to every one else making rock and roll. Several years older than Fats and Bo and like ten years older than Elvis and Buddy etc.

He's basically writing heavy metal fan-fic and sounds like a tremendous nerd so I'll allow it geeks gotta be able to geek out. Especially this type or they might go trenchcoat mafia.

Lol they’re generally harmless and I can look past it as long as they aren’t the elitist gatekeeper types. That guy probably wrote that review from a Starbucks.

Been reading a ton of archival interviews and stuff and alot of people already thought they were square by 1966 and some of the early fan/peer reactions for Pet Sounds were not glowing. Jagger had a particularly brutal interview in '66 where he let Dennis have it for being a s*** drummer

Dennis himself would have been the first to tell you he was a s*** drummer 🤷🏻‍♂️ iirc their dad pretty much forced him to to start playing cause they needed a drummer

Most of them were angsty Tolkien nerds but a few started burning churches and stabbing people yeah

Except Darkthrone. They just got drunk and cranked out riffs :datass:

Like Trump when asked what his favorite bible passages are

"Mr Love what were your favorite beaches to surf " ..... "all of them. cant really pick one over the other so all of them"

I've only met one in real life. Guy kept talking to me about Tool because he knew I liked metal. Said he had a box of Maynard's wine at home.

I just sat there high like

I used to work with a guy who was a f***in stan of them, and it was the only metal band he liked besides Maynard’s side project bands
Found other bands lyrical themes didn’t match the intelligence of Tool’s music. I usually just politely nodded and smiled so I didn’t get shot or something later on.
