After all these years we can accept Kanye in his prime was 2004-2013 right? Sorry Pablo fam I wont hear that argument
Thinking about it, I think I didn't become a Ye fan until 2011 or 2012 (Same with a lot of stuff when I started to really get into music). I def late bloomed into my love for music. (Very late)
I was a fan since LR-era, and especially Grad, but during most of my teens i was too busy playing video games and partying to keep up with him. Most of my rap consumption was left to whatever we played in be car when smoking.
The rap i listened to regularly was mostly Gucci and Waka. But i was mostly into melodic/post-hardcore and metalcore during those years. I was constantly going to see bands like The Ghost Inside, Impending Doom, Liferuiner, and (may god forgive me) Emmure
maybe I did but forgot
vancouver was originally the 2nd night of the tour after seattle but a truck with a bunch of equipment got stolen in between here and there so he had to reschedule. it was pretty bad though because he didnt cancel till like an hour before he was supposed to start and my friend and i had convinced a bunch of people who were only halfway fans to get tickets and a hotel in the city and they were already at the hotel partying when we found out
my friend and hadn't even left for the city yet
they were f***ing seething
he rescheduled for a few months later on halloween which sounded pretty awesome so everybody forgave us but then the f***ing truck with eh big 60 foot lcd screen or whatever crashed on the way to the venue and they had to cancel again... and again all our friends were already at the hotel partying when we found out just like last time
the have never forgiven kanye and he had to just cancel the Vancouver date in the end because everyone was over it.
obviously me and my stan friend (and ex) were not gonna miss the tour so it was either spend 2000 to fly to toronto
or take a bus to seattle and fly to chicago for like 500 bucks. the fact that it was his hometown made the choice even easier.

2004-2013: Prime
2016-2017: Sub-prime
2018: The dark ages
2019-2021: Beginning of a second prime?

as someone who has been a fan since the CD singles were coming out, Pablo is definitely included. id even say hes still not solidly outside of his "imperial phase" yet.
Well it sounds like it was a great environment to grieve together. My mom's side of the family is more of the "cry a little, but mostly laugh and reminisce" when it comes to funerals.
My dad's side (Alabamians) are a total s***show. Like multiple people wailing loudly and older ladies "catching the holy ghost" and speaking in tongues while an open casket is sitting in the room
f***ing albanians
i still think of Dilbert whenever i hear about them

getting dangerously close to kanye rankings here but yeah i guess, with the prime of the prime being 2010-2013
Rudy to Minnesota

Alabamians, not Albanians. But i suppose the other states in this country treat Alabama as such

The dark ages
if JiK to DONDA is the beginning of a second prime then the standards for a second prime are very low

oh
im hopped up on painkillers my bad

Unfortunately his 2 best albums are 6 years and 4 albums apart so I can't personally pinpoint the prime of his prime

how it is when youre building the rap version of a Bob Dylan/Neil Young type discography
I like TLOP and ye the best but I also don't listen to Kanye like you guys do
YE???
I finished high school in June of 2013 and didnt have the money or resources to either A. fly to the states (Chicago would have been the closest and Toronto or HAmilton the closest Candian city since it looks like he didn't have a Vancouver show ( @Elric really???? ) wasnt gonna happen in any capacity
So it wasn't really by choice :elon:
You're the bozo
