Its a really good album. I think richmans best work was in the 80s and 90s tho
What do you think his best albums are?

Modern Lovers 88
the 70s were so good for singer songwriters tho whether they be pop, folk, rock, whatever
I can appreciate that. Most of my favorite music is from the 80s on though, with a few exceptions here and there.
@Elric
It was all a dream, I used to read Nintendo Power magazine
Play the s*** out of the og version and yeah it was weird
That s/t cars album is just wall to wall hits. First listen in a while this weekend and yea its amazing
I suspect I'll know most of them from my parents but I haven't heard it since I was a young teenager
you should check out Made in Japan. Highway Star is the only song that isn't better than the studio counterpart imo.
I'm weird about live albums, got to be balls deep in the studio stuff before I even approach it

I get that but the album consists mostly out of their most famous songs minus Black Night. what do you think of this?

Yeah this is a good bit gnarlier than the studio one. I already knew I liked this song though.
This list is making me realize I don't like the 70s very much
I’m growing to really appreciate it doing this but normally I always considered it one of my least favorite decades. Always felt like a transition from the sounds I liked more in the 60’s into the 80’s. My favorite 70’s records usually are from the early or late 70’s because they’re informed more by the sounds of the decades they’re closest to.

I love how there’s this one sort of experimental track in the middle. It’s so jarring but it’s a neat choice to break things up.
idk i like the 70s a lot. i think the top records are as good as any decade, might be not as deep as 80s or 90s for me personally cause of the lack of hip hop records
decades
decades
You’re right about this. The last half of one decade and the first of the following have more in common than they do their respective other halves. Late 50’s/early 60’s is more similar than the counter culture of the late 60’s/early 70’s. Late 70’s/early 80’s is the same and so on.

Well yeah obviously but it's just an easy and obvious way to break up a period of time init. It's not that deep

RVI been on this for a while and it would make for some interesting lists

exactly, its not that deep and the only problem when people try to look too into it and start describing everything as "this sounds like x decade". thinking differently about music based on one of the digits in the year it came out and trying to draw way too many parallels when it doesnt make sense
:tash:

This is such a 90s opinion bro you wouldn't catch an 80s guy like Elric saying this

How does this not make sense. You must be blazed out of your mind all the time to not get what I’m communicating here.
Young Americans is such a weird Bowie album. Dude thinks he can just jump into any genre and yeah he can but it’d be nice if he got really good at one rather than shifting focus every album. Also that Across The Universe cover is a huge miss.

Yeah but constantly switching it up was Bowie's thing. And when you have a voice like that you can get away with it even if the songs arent always great.
