I feel like most people don't like IV and if anything it's underrated
Idk there’s alotta those “real cinema” types that think every PTA film is an utter masterpiece
1920s: Nanook of the North
1930s: The Wizard of Oz
1940s: Pinoccio
1950s: Singin' in the Rain
1960s: The Gospel according to St. Matthews
1970s: Don't Look Now or Jaws
1980s: Grave of the Fireflies or E.T.
1990s: Shawshank Redemption or Goodfellas/Boogie Nights
2000s: Kill Bill, No Country for Old Men
2010s: The Social Network, Boyhood, Dunkirk, Inception, Birdman, Revenant etc.
I like almost all of them tho.

Am I one of those types? Cause I definitely think that
Seems to me most people couldnt remotely fathom IV

Because Pynchon is an insane writer
I invented no rating on first watch (at least for anything with any depth)
i still rate but it kinda almost always changes on rewatches. rewatching films you love is the best
10s: Cosmopolis
00s: Speed Racer
90s: Beau Trevail
80s: Blow Out
70s: A Clockwork Orange
60s: Dr Strangelove
50s: The Seventh Seal
seventh seal and especially speed racer are underrated too
dang rip kirk douglas, last of his kind probably
A musician, an athlete, and finally an actor
The circle is complete
man that’s way too hard
Mon de 70's were so
then the 80's came in like

two completely different vibes but both rad as hell

Idk I’ve seen lotta people d***ride IV extremely hard
Like I consider it overrated cuz of the people who hold it in like this super high regard. Like yeah fury road and the social network are on average more respected films than IV but I rarely see people like making these extremely obnoxious ass “only real cinema heads understand this masterpiece” or some “the subtle intricate nuances of this are unrivaled in cinema” like I always be seeing for boring ass garbage as Cosmopolis, Speed Racer or even IV

Take that mulholland dr slander away... oh yeah u gave Dune a 5/5 though... u might just be confused then...
Lost Highway isn't even overrated either
that one routinely gets criticized... don't let this thread define what gets praised universally yo.
