There's a remaster on the Switch though unless you just wanna own the original for some reason
I still aint got a switch. But i do have a gamecube compatible wii, so even tho the used game prices are ridiculous, it'd still be cheaper than buying a switch + that port.

Ohhh ok I mixed up Wii and Switch in my head. Makes sense now.

I also found this at one of the estate sales today. Never seen this "official" release before. It came out in 1991.
Got it to give to my brother for his birthday in a couple months. Paid $4 for it

Given the series' huge cult following, I assumed it would be selling online for like $10 or so. Looked up recently sold ones on ebay earlier and was shocked to see them going for $50-100
At least i hope i find some deals on gamecube games I want... I hate how expensive gamecube games have become over the past couple years. S*** is probably the most expensive 21st century console to collect for right now
I've tried telling you anything you're playing on there can be played in actual hd on the Wii U. GameCube has no HDMI
I bought every single Nintendo game I could think of on the Wii U virtual console before they shut it down which I'm not sure if they did yet

Ok this Rise :datass:
By the time gamecube came out I had already entered my "video game nerd" phase and had done a bunch of research/played old classics from before my time had a pretty good grasp on the history of the medium. Felt like historical time when all the 10/10/10 games were dropping
I remember walking home from the convenience store with the brand new electronic gaming monthly and I was so excited to read the Wind Waker review I instantly dropped the magazine face down in a puddle
Im still kinda annoyed that our def coordinator left to be oregon's head coach. Like, how tf you gonna join UGA 3 years ago, go through multiple great seasons, and then leave for another team right after UGA wins the championship?
And especially to go coach a team like oregon, who has pretty much always been about fast as s*** and explosive offense. He gonna try to do a 180 with their whole program or something?
AND oregon is our opening matchup this season? Smh
(Not hating on oregon by any means, they've always been extremely fun to watch.)
One of the worst things about sports fandom is coaches getting poached
It’ll be interesting to see if he can build a great defense out there though
would definitely make them dominate the PAC
Badly need a new Rogue Squadron flight simulator. Or preferably another TIE fighter where you play as the bad guys.

Oh trust me, as soon as i booted up the wii today the first thing i thought of was the time you splurged on virtual console stuff before the shutdown. Wish i had a wii/wii-u back then

Gamecube was my gamer kid era then I skipped the Wii/PS3/360 gen for the most part. Didnt really get back into games til I played Dark Souls 3 a few years ago.

Yeah my brother had really nice 8-inch cenobytes figurines on his desk growing up. He's the one who showed me the series so i had to get it for him

I haven't skipped a generation since the n64 which was the system of my childhood
usually have at least two of the three systems going. When we were hoodlum teenagers that were friends with tons of thieves I definitely had all the systems and all of the games lol.

I can kind of see Nintendo's logic with the switch subscription thing and not making people buy the same games for the 20th time but it's still too iffy and annoying

Yeah i grew up on snes, and had an n64 when it cane out. But then my dad brought home a ps1 and we pretty much abandoned the n64 for that thing. My whole family would gather around the playstation every weekend to compete in home run derbys on mlb 2001, or get the highest score in tony hawk pro skater 1.
And whenever me or my bro would beat my dad's tony hawk score, he'd say it was our bedtime and then he'd stay up til 4am getting a ridiculous score that we couldn't beat
But i didnt truly get absorbed into gaming until FF9 on ps1, and shortly after we got a ps2 and all i played was jrpgs on that thing for years. Then i got my own gamecube. But my life was truly over once 360 came out and i started playing Halo 2, RSV2, Halo 3, and CoD4. Now i wanna go back an replay all the single player games I took for granted before the days of xbox live lobbies

Are they really as slow with new additions to switch's virtual console thing as people say? I've heard the service itself is great, but nowhere near as encompassing as Wii's virtual console library
