Is GnR just a hard rock band or glam/hair metal ? :mystery:
I could see them hanging with Motley Crew over Slayer
Prob the last big glam metal band
Prob the last big glam metal band
Skid Row debuted after and their first album was much more glam
also a few like Warrant and Winger debuting in 88-89

we really can't afford to dive into this topic again but no, i think Appetite is only slightly glam and more of a pure hard rock album
some people make no distinction between 80s hard rock and glam which i do not think is accurate
This song sounds more like hair metal than “grunge”

I still think its crazy how out of place they sounded in the 90's. Like I know Use Your Illusion was hyped but still.. that's an 80's album

You consider November Rain hair metal or just a power ballad?

hard rock power ballad
dont really find anything glam (""hair"") about it

first few years of the 90s still definitely had that sound too with a lot of the hard rock. part of why i dont like generalizing entire decades like that, not like anything just instantly happened in 1990 that changed the entire aesthetic of everything
this is a 90s song too lol

Mötley Crüe sounded good in the 90s though

Use Your Illusion is great, shoutout to @lucid
both albums are damn good, still prefer 1st one over 2nd some those tracks last too long on there

My World though
Hair metal? :elon:

yeah i wouldnt have complained if he posted one from Facelift like I Know Somethin
contrast between glam and grunge always kinda overstated anyway

My World though
i actually really like locomotive, over some of the more acclaimed tracks even, idk i felt that middle part of that album was just fine
my world a track idk what to feel about, like it just came without warning, literally too. this like if mj put a death metal track on one of his albums
