Paul’s singing and songwriting is not only firmly rooted in country/rockabilly roots, but it’s trying it’s damn hardest to move that culture forward without compromising both the ideal of what being an American was when rock music started and the reality of being an American when the album came out.

Let It Be was a garage band realizing that maturity was inevitable despite all resistance. Tim is a reflection on time wasted resisting the inevitable and desperately trying to celebrate it regardless.

Captures the band right before they left post-punk and started on their pilgrimage to spiritual adult contemporary. Some of the songs on the record are my favorite versions of them

the peaks on Tim are basically as high as the peaks on any album ever for me though. b******s of young, left of the dial, and here comes a regular likely the 3 best replacements songs and some of the best alt rock ever
