Will always love him for Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Spaced
I don’t like Scott Pilgrim but the direction is perfect
watched Last Night in Soho last night and I liked it. A sort of blend of Polanski, De Palma and Argento. Not necessarily as gritty as those but just as atmospheric and quite thrilling.
Tbh the only Wright film that didn't do it for me was The World's End.
Hmm maybe I will see it then

I've never seen it
I've never seen it
It kind of perfectly predicted the modern youth culture Down to hyperactive media obsession
I wish NWA and Eazy E coordinated the songs on their first albums better
When they saw how proto-Feige RZA did it a few years later

Exactly. Dre and Cube could’ve had a true dynasty.

To be fair NWA Legacy compilation was retrospectively pretty thorough as far as tying together the disparate threads
give me a similar vision as RZA hits did when I was just wrapping my head around the hip hop world
Will always love him for Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Spaced
His fast cuts and editing are super clean

the guy who pulls out the sword tho
Just seen Tragedy of Macbeth. I liked it, looked amazing and Denzel and Frances killed it. Glad I had an understanding of the story though cause I had no f***ing clue what they were saying half the time
They speak quicker and at a lower volume in the Coen one compared to the Roman one. Be prepared to read cause they use words and grammar that are basically foreign.
@Bizzle I tried warning them

I’m gonna read a translation of the play before watching it again
I could barely make it through the first scene of Spacey, Hamm, Foxx and f***ing Elgort trying their hardest to come off as badass criminals
I don't think the comedy was intentional
Man was listening to Tequila
I never took any of them seriously. The fact that he was listening to Tequila out of all songs makes it somewhat funny. Elgort is like the anti-Ryan Gosling. Ryan Gosling is the embodiment of a modern type of hegemonial manhood, while Elgort is presenting a sort of marginalized manhood, which is trying to ape the former one to garner the acceptance this one gets. The other crooks are closer to. It's a bit superficial but it works as a comedic backdrop imo.
Last Night in Soho was the first "serious" films I've seen by Wright and even that one had many comedic moments.

Looks like your boys 1914 put out something epic, tbh I never was huge on this band but
