Well I'm still sick of reading your reviews and hearing about the MCU in every goddamn one. Especially because you are getting way better at elucidating youself on there when you just stfu about marvel. Yeah when I referred to MCU I just meant anything Marvel related really. But I get there's the whole shared universe thing surrounding The Avengers.

I barely mention the MCU in my reviews. I review a million other things where that never comes up. Wtf are you talking about. I only mentioned the MCU in my two recent reviews because guess what…they were MCU movies.

Do you guys think the MCU model is killing independent cinema or is that bullshit? I personally think it can't be a good thing for smaller non blockbusters.

Yes. Spielberg, Wright, and Scott who used to be viewed as populist filmmakers are now being treated as artsy fartsy “real cinema” and their films are bombing. The only things that can make a buck anymore is cheap Blumhouse horror films, A24 indie stuff, and major blockbusters. The middle budget film is dead.

The editing in modern blockbusters now is so transparent that it’s compensating or attempting to correct for people who get distracted and look at their phones. Rarely anything feels big cause you never have time to sit with a scene. It’s why despite feeling a bit empty after watching Dune, I appreciated it’s David Lean sense of weight. Same with the new Bond tbh.
