My friend's old Irish dad (who also ended up being my sister's father-in-law) that I told you I had by far the best British Invasion chats with succumbed to his cancer yesterday too
apparently took a moment to make sure my sister knew his old music stuff was going to me
RIP to a real one

didn’t it take like 2 weeks to record maxwell silver hammer
I can’t imagine playing that song multiple times a day for weeks
Idk why they couldn’t just do a couple takes and be done with it. Paul doing too much

Rather hear Long Long Long than anything off Abbey Road on any given day
Since we're giving George random props

White album could’ve been a Lennon solo tbh

I've been trying to find this quote from Brian Eno that I read a few years ago where he said Norwegian Wood was the be-all end-all game changer for him
it's out there and I'm going to shove it in your face when I find it
White album could’ve been a Lennon solo tbh
Except for Lennon enjoyed the company of the lads and only Paul's ego could've ended it
Lennon dead ass tried to get them to all move to a Greek Island in 1967
went and scouted locations and everything
White album could’ve been a Lennon solo tbh
his and george's tracks would've been a crazy album
Paul's songs are good too though. Mother Nature's Son, Rocky Raccoon, Helter Skelter...yea really might be their best album

I don't see how there's any debate to be honest
what is this thread?
just chilling
That would be cool to live through the British Invasion tho. wonder what it was like in person
Trying my best to approximate that feeling right now in the best songs thread

some people always just gonna be averse to double albums and propagate the myth of "filler"

Well it was the Beatles in 1968 so even their filler was pretty fascinating. I don't know it's just the perfect balance of everything they ever did and the songs were so much sharper than 67 or 69 because they wrote most of them with no d**** while secluded up in the mountains of India.
He said something similar about VU&N iirc
Yeah well that was 2 cataclysmic pop years later
