I see you didn’t actually look at the comments of the original trailer. Seth is exaggerating about the amount of hate but thousands of comments in the original trailer were 4chan Holocaust jokes and anti-Semitic quotes from Henry Ford and Mein Kampf. All with thousands of likes. You can actually still see some of those same comments here
Also, the chick ghostbusters was terrible but don’t act like they didn’t face absurd sexism. They got an extra amount of hate compared to all other terrible reboots and remakes

Where is this a dead horse exactly. Haven’t seen any of you discuss it. All I said was the trailer was really bad after finally watching it. Lordie decided to bring in the additional context to twist it into some lame culture war topic which isn’t what I intended to do.

Maybe I just don’t get the impulse to defend cynical corporate diarrhea over some irrelevant s***posters spamming a YouTube comment section. He’s exaggerating cause he needs to exaggerate just like 2016 Ghostbusters. Yeah there were a few actual sexist people, but who gives a s*** when that wasn’t the heart of the criticism. It’s like saying Bernie Sanders had sexist fans. It’s a disingenuous defensive tactic. Rogen also just said you shouldn’t worry about getting carjacked cause your car isn’t an extension of yourself. Dude couldn’t be a bigger bougie dipshit. Lordie loves playing up the “enlightened centrist” schtick lately. Point is the movie looks bad. That’s all I was getting at. This conversation didn’t need to happen.

The market for mid budget comedy films died in like 2014 so his brain has been mush ever since. He’s holding onto that like edgy weed smoking loud guy image but he doesn’t have anything anymore to filter that through naturally so instead he just shoves swears, d****, and b**** into what amounts to these silly PSA’s.

If you look into the data on it most of the people on those sites are like loser teenagers laarping. Half the actual people that go out and organize that kind of s*** in real life end up being Feds. I’m not downplaying the real problem of those people but when it’s just internet s***posters at this point even Rogen should realize these aren’t the “real thing”. The majority of the criticism is just that the movie looks really bad and the rest is trolling.
