you havent seen the movie chief

But even from the trailer I could see the La Chinoise influence but you watched the whole film and didn’t take any French New Wave from it.

That’s a different type of archetype. I don’t mean silent badass.

Denis has been turning his actors into monolithic archetypes more and more but there are still definitely times where he was just acting badly in Dune

the scene in the tent with his mom comes to mind

    That last sentence
No you understand why I’m not in a rush to see Dune

there are other things to behold in dune

its was a struggle to keep up with his reetarded narrative framing so i didnt have the brainpower to also look for influences

only felt Tati when some of the bigger sets started coming to life

Losing the restrictions that a focused feature with a central dramatic core puts upon you can only open a filmmaker like him up to more experimentation even if it’s not so obvious visually.

Subtitles don’t mean s***. Bro saw Lighthouse and understood 30% of it (more than me) and still liked it

the lack of a coherent tone was difficult couldn't tell what the film was trying to be

That could be a problem for me too. I’ll have to wait and see.

    Chalamet after Little Women

Saoirse's performance in that might be top 10 ever for me. Never seen a film with so many other known and "qualified" actors/actresses get overshadowed by a single performance like that.

I don’t know how anyone defends the game design in Souls-like games of having to run through a bunch of s*** you’ve already done simply to try fighting a boss again. That’s not difficult, that’s just tedious. The sluggishness of the games works in making you commit to your actions but sometimes it literally just comes across as delayed and that’s on top of awkward cameras. They’re very good games but people need to stop pretending they’re perfect. They’re totally janky.

    Best games eva made

But yeah long runs to bosses were never fun and they get shorter and shorter with each game, and by Sekiro they're pretty much non-existent

  • Going back to work in a couple days most def will slow down on my 80s grind so night finish my list soon and post it

Mad Men’s ending might be my favorite ending on GOAT TV show

It’s not too vague like Sopranos, and it’s not too dreadful-in the face like Breaking Bad, and it’s not too ‘and the life goes on’ without any closure like The Wire

It’s properly symbolic, properly continuous, connected with real life monumental event, such a beautiful closer

So happy that I finally finished this show.
