Kubrick was off his s*** for this

I find the Barry Lyndon movie more erotic for some reason
Hal's a b****. F*** evil AIs
It wasn't hals fault they told him to lie
he wasn't programmed to deal with deceit

I always interpreted his character motivations as a continuation of the opening scene. The eternal struggle for power and how there will always be a casualty if one entity has even the slightest advantage over the other. I feel like him having an artificial “human” consciousness is why he reacted in such a feral manner.
yeah i thought i remembered you saying something like that
I think I was too young for H&M’s dry sarcasm or it could’ve hit too close to home. It’s Wes influence is unmistakable though. Need to rewatch.
when you stan both
star wars was the first thing i ever went hyper-nerd on so they really need to s*** the bed for me to not enjoy it at least a little
Great thing about Star Wars is that there’s so much of it that the good always out weighs the bad

What about all the TV shows and comics/novels even in the ‘80s?
Mel Brooks was on George’s ass with how much he was pimping that franchise out

I think technically it was because he was told to lie to the crew and it screwed up his programming but yeah it's also a continuation of the eternal struggle thing

Ok fine
I remember when there were 4 movies

“Chloe Zhao's directorial style, to me, feels like if someone removed imagination and emotion from Terrance Malik's brain and replaced them with a triple dose of his tracking shot autism, then sterilized that with antiseptic.“ - online friend of mine

Aren't the spiciest moments with his cousin
A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
This definitely expands on what I’m trying to get at. I feel like Kubrick understood what he was trying to convey with the messy definition of what it means to be human. Rob Ager had a brilliant video where he points out that the flaw in David being programmed to think he’s a real child is that he can’t grow and won’t accept the reality that he’s a robot.

The decision to have Spielberg direct was very wise and humble, especially since John Williams was clutch with that score

Liar. You were just stanning him hard the other day and calling Koala an idiot for thinking he lost his warmth.
