are horror movies just lame to you and they dont scare you at all?
Quite a few of my all time favorite movies are horror but they aren't of the slasher variety or whatever
I like slow burn atmospheric s*** like The Shining and Rosemarys Baby and The VVitch but hardcore horror fans consider people like me basic. I do like alot of Texas Chainsaw Massacre type of things too and a ton of creepy 50s s*** from Japan and Europe etc but it's still not enough for me to be considered a real horror fan probably.

You need to see The Shining for Jack Nicholson's performance and Kubrick's atmosphere
it's an all-timer
Not jump scarey or gorey
uhhh sci fi
but i saw like 10 minutes of alien while smoking in friends dorm years ago and was like
some thrillers that get my heart racing are okay but i cant get with the idea of wanting to scare the s*** out of myself

yeah the shining is one i was actually gonna watch. my mom was insisting its not scary and i believe her

You might like Mermaid in a Manhole. Dying mermaid asks a dude to paint her using her own blood and puss.

I haven’t seen a horror movie I really “liked” since Hereditary tbh. I can enjoy anything that isn’t boring or annoyingly self-righteous though. I saw the Candyman reboot too. It’s... a little better than “okay”. I think there’s enough for you to enjoy if you do see it.
I've only seen Hereditary once and thought it was cool, its a fine line with these artsy horror flicks tho. When they try to do too much or seem deeper than they actually need to be is
but done right they hit really good.

I completely agree and it’s why I absolutely f***ing hated Midsommar, A Ghost Story and Lamb. A24 needs to stop trying to do horror completely and switch to comedy or musicals or something.

Feel like Eggers does it well cause he's a guy that's genuinely into horror. A lot of these artsy types tackle a genre they just don't seem to get and it's like cinematic blue balls.
Martin's reaction at 00:57
Yo, was he trying not to laugh?
My brother liked Martin way more than I did but Hustle Man and a couple other characters always got a laugh out of me

Eggers isn't even into horror or film as much as he is mythology, folklore and language in general. Gives him and edge over these other dudes for sure.

Yeah I love seeing actors try and hold in their laughter when someone else is being too funny
the most infectious type

He’s so deep in the roots of what “horror” is that he doesn’t even register what he’s doing as genre. Explains how he can switch tone so easily without losing depth.

S*** could be a smiley if it was in higher definition. It’s Always Sunny bloopers have them trying not to laugh a lot.

Ima watch Titane tonight, this one looks like a wild.. and that Caddy is too sexy
@pneumonia you hyped for the new JPEG?
