Yeah but his wife was always on site so he probably didn't get as lecherous as he'd have liked

rewatched rear window recently and I have to say as someone who is colorblind, that film has some of the most beautiful colors I've ever seen in a movie. Crazy cuz it takes place in an apartment complex you'd think it would be somewhat dull in that regard

I'm still sort of undecided if North By Northwest is a mastapiece or not. Good film though.

I think Vertigo is easily his best and it's not close either

Vertigo and Rebecca my favorite Hitchcock.

Stringing that many together I think kind of makes it one. I think I prefer aspects of 39 Steps and Wrong Man as proto versions of this but this may be the most consistent.

Perverts are the best directors. Hitchcock, De Palma, David Lynch, Abel Ferrera, etc

I don't want to talk smack on the flick you're watching but yeah last revisit didn't leave me all flustered with that Hitch magic

I’m just sort of blown away by the remaster on HBO Max too. It looks brand new sometimes.

Getting raised in a concentration camp kind of gave him an edge on portraying dark subject matter that few others can match

Fritz Lang might have gotten his first wife killed so he could run off with Thea Harbou who wrote his films for several years before he also left her because she wanted to be a Nazi

And his pregnant wife being stabbed to death

But you right he was portraying corruption in film even before that

Like his version of Macbeth. Wonder if Coen will top it.

Murnau might not have had an early demise if he chose a chauffeur who could actually drive instead of the cutest little immigrant boy he could find crashed and killed him
