A break is always nice but he wanted to be here for donda lol and probably 90s rollout. I sent him the link so he saw it but missed the banter.

ayyyy good cop, now we can talk about how awesome this game is together
this is actually my first Tales of game, so what exactly are you having issues with?
i will go ahead and say watch all the skits you come across cuz the majority of deeper character development is shown mostly through those lol and also they’ll give you hints on bosses element types/battle methods
i definitely started enjoying it more after beating the first lord, so maybe you’ll feel the same. what difficulty are you playing on? i started on hard and the lords are damn near Souls-like on this difficulty
Oh trust me i always watch all the skits in Tales games cause virtually all the ones I've played have special unlocks for viewing specific skits, and a certain number of skits, and many of them are usually missable lol
But as for things that are different that have thrown me off a bit:
• the button layout with R1 being attack, and X-Square-Triangle being Artes shortcuts... In the old games, it was X or Square to attack, while Artes were assigned to pressing Up/Down/Across/Stationary + Attack. Which means this new game only has 3 Artes shortcuts available, where the old ones had 4. (I do like how they implemented the ground and air artes in this game though.)
• the skill tree thing is fine for stats increases, buffs/resistances, and tech boost type of things, but i dont like how you also unlock new artes in it. In the other games, you unlocked new artes after using certain ones a number of times, or using certain artes in a specific combo. This game still has the "use an arte a number of times" mechanic to get better proficiency with it, but as far as i can tell all new base/arcane artes are unlocked through spending SP on the skill tree
• i havent noticed the inclusion of any unlockable titles for each character so far, which is a staple of the series. But maybe i just havent seen it in the menus or havent played far enough to get them yet
• Also, on the subject of skits... The placement and size of the "Watch Skit" button in this game is way to easy to miss for me. In the old ones it would pop-up in the bottom center of the screen with the skit title in a decent text size and it was impossible to miss. But in this game, the little thing in the corner is often just outside of my periphery, and sometimes they dont even have titles and just say "R1", making it even harder to see
What the hell are they teaching in Nova Scotia
Isn't the East coast basically owned by some sketchy family? Read about it a while ago. They got their own Koch brothers out there or something f***ing s*** up
Why what'd you see
Something about that comment made a bunch of crowns cascade across the screen
do the Koch brothers own the internet

lmaooo its because it contains "king s***" i think
I didn't type that
you typed "fucking s***" which contains it

oh yeah I’ve heard complaints about the move set layouts, can you remap them to your liking or na? i haven’t tried
idk how they did it in the old games but the titles are in your skill tree section and are unlocked by doing random things. you get a title and it unlocks a new set of skills in the tree.
oh and yeah there are actually a ton of artes that can only be unlocked by accidentally using their combos in combat
