He was being a little a b**** though. Dude's like 80 and talking s*** on twitter, go take a nap.
Weir's playing during the transitions in China Cat>Rider is always so goat
didnt even realize that distinctive part was him at first
I gotta take Crosby's side, that was pathetic
funnier than anything SNL has put out for sure.
idk if i thought it was pathetic but i gotta take his side because he is just an old guy who doesnt give a f*** giving a one word reply to some rando's question on twitter. not like hes just going out of his way to talk s*** on her
Been spinning Perfect From Now On
guess I listened to Broken Chairs enough for them to sorta sink in cause my allergies aren't flaring up
that ending got me a bit
besides the Dark Star i mentioned yesterday that song (2 songs together) and that performance of it (from the Europe 72 album) might be the 2nd place for their most definitive recording. imho
Live/Dead is a period I like more but the Europe 72 album was the best live album released back in the day partly because of the tracklist+length+good vocal overdubs. thats the one that really got me "on the bus" most but its also a triple album
Also Heaven Or Las Vegas
skipped a few of their albums after Treasure cause the 90s thread gave me fomo

When did Garcia start doing heroin? Which d*** did he hit higher peaks and darker depths on
When did Garcia start doing heroin? Which d*** did he hit higher peaks and darker depths on
apparently he started doing heroin in the mid 70s. most of the peak was before that but theres still some peak years afterwards. but there's so many d**** involved it's impossible to try to pinpoint based on specific ones lol. they were all cokeheads too. i think the better later era stuff comes from periods where he was clean-ish though
Garcia might be the goat with the most unhealthy lifestyle, dude was looking 70 years old at 45 (partially due to early gray hair but still) and was visibly in absolute shambles up on stage at times. crazy amounts of d****, smoking, horrible diet, no exercise, even allegedly awful hygiene during the nadirs
@fuk_an_ad_lib love this Hank cover

my top 3 jams are Dark Star, China>Rider and Scarlet Begonias>Fire on the Mountain

Bob Weir had a nice little solo album a few years ago, warm acoustic country tunes.. Lush production

Morning Dew never hits as hard for me as it does for everyone else ngl
doesnt help that the actual "song" part just kinda bores me...

yea that's kind of why I love it, it's a nice slow waltzy joint that you know is about to buildup into a wall of Dead goodness, the breaks from soft to loud
what parts are buttt
probably the YEEEAAAAAAAAHHs
