Dreamcrusher is harsh noise. There are plenty of melodic bits throughout though. Many hard beats, gripping piano and guitar riffs as well as a nightmarish yet buried lead vocal.

The Ascension is Sufjan doing his electronic style again but with less filler than age of adz and a little more restraint however a bit more experimental in it's middle section + a couple of his very best songs (The Ascension, America, Run Away from me, Make me an offer i cannot refuse, tell me you love me)

man was pure entertainment, could've easily been a comedian just give him a mic and he'd go off lol

having a QB with some pocket awareness is nice

No, only listened to the biggest releases this year. There is just way too much stuff to do to actually invest time in searching for music for me atm. Last year was already a bit weak but there were a few rather obscure albums (Brii for example) that I thought deserved to be listened to more but I don't have something for this year.
