I'll def give him more listens. He's got charisma up the ass, might just need more spins to fully get into it
yea for sure, definitely give those other projects a listen too. sometimes you just need that gateway album and the rest will open up. Covert Coup is less than 30 mins but is considered his best by a lot of his fans
Still can't believe THE Jerry Seinfeld took time out of his life to participate in these lists. What a humble guy jeez.
that one big gator you could kill in RDR2
whenever I rolled through the swamps those gators on land scared tf outta me
Damn f***ing RIP that "pd" guy on letterboxd. I noticed he wasn't popping up on movies I know for a fact he's logged/reviewed — had to ask around to find out he got suspended
Dude posted some of the best content i've ever seen on there. I really hope this isnt a permanent thing and he returns soon.
Really wish i would've archived more of his reviews than i have now
GODDAMN the final boss of Hades is hard AF
That pulsating synth on "New Again" is ever so slightly distorted and gives it a mildly disorienting feel. Borderline demonic tbh. S*** puts me in a trance goddamn
Donda on repeat

You finish the album?
Anyone else feel like some of the drums on Donda sound really lifeless? I like Hurricane but the drums feel so dead, outro to Jail also got kinda weak drums. Doesn't ruin the album at all cause the rhythm dominated by bass but still

You finish the album?
Im playing it right now in my living room. Not ideal, i'd prefer to blare it in my car stereo. But im in the back half now and yall were right, the 2nd half >>>>
Wayyyy better than the first chunk of songs (minus "Jail")
"Jesus Lord" just came on and yessssss this was the song from the 2nd listening party that i f***ing LOVED but never looked up the name. I might be hitting replay on this song for a min before i move on
Jesus Love, Jail, Keep My Spirit Alive, Moon, and Remote Control are def my top faves so far. Those make a lot of the first dozen tracks sound really subpar by comparison tbh
I'm playing the album while I'm grinding through Hades and it's a pretty good matchup
The devil's son trying to escape from hell. I'm cutting demons in half with "Tell me if you know someone that needs... Jesus Lord" in my speakers
If this album went:
1. Jail
2. Jonah
3. Believe What I Say
4. 24
5. Remote Control
6. Moon
7. Heaven and Hell
8. Donda
9. Keep My Spirit Alive
10. Jesus Lord
11. New Again
12. Tell the Vision
13. Lord I Need You
14. Pure Souls
15. Come to Life
16. No Child Left Behind
17. Jail, Pt. 2
18. Jesus Lord, Pt. 2
mayyybe Hurricane too, not sure yet
Then it would easily be a masterpiece. But God Breathed, Off the Grid, Praise God, Ok Ok, and Junya, all just sound so forced into the beginning of the album. It starts off so great with Jail, then takes a weird half-baked banger detour, and then finally gets back on track after Junya.
Jesus Is King has really grown on me in the past year or so, and the hypothetical tracklist above sounds like the super sophisticated version of that album, which is great.
I hope those first handful of songs eventually grow on me. I already said earlier that I liked "Junya" a lot. But after hearing the last 2/3rds of the album, they don't fit well at all on it for me on first impressions.
And i def agree with @Aruji about the two guest verses on Jail — As happy as it makes me to see Jay back on a Kanye song, DaBaby's verse flows a lot better with the song to me. (As someone who hasn't listened to any DaBaby songs/projects at all.) But I'd keep both songs regardless cause they're awesome

Off The Grid, Come To Life, Jesus Lord, Believe What I Say.
Enjoy pretty much everything except Jonah & Tell The Vision, you?

1st half of the album definitely grows on you
I love god breathed but it’s placed so awkwardly idk why he did that
