Pretty crude comparison but you do you
Made a second alarm 15 minutes after my first one and set it to play Takyon by Death Grips just to make sure I wake the f*** up for work
I can't expect Vince to ever match the magic of Summertime 06 again, but wish he could at least come somewhat close. 4 listens in to the self titled and it's pretty apparent that it isn't his most ambitious work at all. Not mid by any means but I'm not sure I can put it higher than a high decent/low good album
its ok cuz the vince album is only 22 minutes and mid
vince didn't do too bad i feel, kenny just gave him throwaway beats it feels like

Yeah I've never thought too highly of Kenny Beats and am perplexed that he's been Vince's producer choice recently. The difference in quality between the backdrop to this album as opposed to something like "Lift Me Up", "Jump Off the Roof", "3230", or "Street Punks" is night and day

i don't think he's that bad honestly, but i don't think he goes w/ vince well. the thing is kenny can do wayyyy better than this

"Law of Averages" had me excited because it had a pretty interesting beat to go along with Vince. Most of the stuff on the album just doesn't sound all that intriguing. Sad I am. Listening to 3230 now and it's crazy how this man peaked so early and spazzed over those complex beats
Underrated part of S'06 is many of the tracks had incredibly unique choices of percussion plus the unconventional rhythms they were played at

i didn’t get a chance to listen to the single before album came out so i could imagine it being more disappointing to someone that did.
vice sounds kinda sluggish too on here unlike his other s***
‘06 vince was super fun to listen to, none of that here i feel, hell i was kinda like that on am too

He does sound a bit lethargic in delivery at times, the bars are pretty good imo and maybe the delivery is a way to express the bleakness of his surroundings growing up, but.... s 06 was touching on similar personal stuff and his voice carried way more emotion on that
I will reserve my judgement for a few more listens but Vince on autopilot is still better than almost anyone else around
New Vince is so underwhelming :(
definitely expected something better from him but it's aight

Can't get with it sadly, I'll give it another listen later and see how I feel.
Dang my Vince hype was already pretty moderate
Revisited Daytona yesterday and man it's crazy how distantly ahead of every one else geezer Push still is
when was the last rap album even close to that potent?
