nah I meant just that mentality of having a superteam which is what GS actually was. not saying they were that good but Bron went there for rings. arguably the first "superteam", not the best

Yea I agree.. Bron was at his peak but looking back what pushed us over the edge was our commitment to clamp defense. Tbh Dwade was often injured and Bosh switched up his game too. We had Joel Anthony as our starting center and felt lucky to snag Birdman Anderson, the last legs of Miller, Battier, and Ray Allen in the clutch.

KD to the Warrios was the weakest move I ever seen a super star make and it followed to Brooklyn..

man went on tv to announce his new team. not sure if I'd go that far, he was obviously amazing but not really a "likeable" villain at the time imo

idk lol I f***ing hated that guy at the time. didn't f*** with d wade or bosh either

Never said likeable, I said best. The entirety of basketball fans were cheering when he lost to the Mavs, and then he followed it up with his 2 best years in his career.

Yo I really believe if Bron stayed in Cleveland he wouldn't have won any rings in that period. Nobody wanted to play there and the league wouldn't have gifted them those 3/4 1st round picks.

Exactly dude! People say the Heat were a superteam, but how many times did Bron or even D Wade a few times have to go super saiyan to get them thought some series. 3 7-game series during their 2 championship runs (Celtics, Pacers, Spurs) doesn't scream superteam to me. They were top heavy with decent rotational pieces during 2012 and 2013. Warriors on the other hand had two MVP's in their prime, 2 other all stars in their prime and a loaded bench. I'd go as far as saying the 2017 Warriors would probably beat any other team in history, and I know old heads would never admit it.

LeBron was cursed the minute he was drafted by the Cavs. One of the worst run organizations ever. Imagine he got even 1 consistent all star.... dude took the 08 Celtics to 7 games

Yo real talk, am I crazy in thinking Kobe shouldn't have 12 All-Defensive selections?? Dude was an athletic dynamo in his younger years and deserved a few, but he made First team defense in years like 2010 and 2011 Feels like they kept giving them to him cause he's Kobe. I looked at DPOY voting for the 15 years Kobe was GREAT, and he rarely finished as a top 3 guard in voting but consistently made 1st team

Meanwhile guys KNOWN for their defense like Iguodala have made less than 5 their whole career

ah mon idk haha Kobe was Kobe and that always helps his case but he was a great defender too. some of those 00's/mid 10's teams had some mean defenses.

He always showed up for well-timed 1 on 1 matchups with other stars late in games so that probably got the attention of the voters enough to continue the defensive legacy. Feel like voters never look at off-ball movement and awareness, but I might just be being unnecessarily nitpicky

No way any team like that could MAKE the finals in today's game. Too much spacing and shooters, it's much harder to defend now. The 84-80 game between the Suns and Clips was an anomaly in today's game

Were the 60s Celtics, 80s Lakers, and 80s Celtics not super teams? Some of those Celtics-Lakers 80s finals had damn ear 10 Hall of Famers.

I guess the term wasn't in the consciousness of basketball fans at the time.
