The games do seem similar except on one you've crash landed on a single planet that has been designed from the ground up by developers whereas the other one you fly around to an infinite number of randomly generated planets? Either way one is a magical experience and the other is mid that you have to force yourself to get involved with apparently

    What movies in particular?

Tbh anything by the three Taiwanese film giants Edward Yang, Tsai Ming Liang, and Hou Hsiao-Hsien, but some good well known ones to start with are Yi Yi, A Brighter Summer Day, Terrorizers, The Time To Live and The Time To Die, A City of Sadness, The Hole, What Time Is It There, Goodbye, Dragon Inn,In Our Time, Dust in The Wind. I'm trying to get through some more obscure stuff at the moment.

I was being hyperbolic because Taiwenese cinemaa is all I've been in the mood for lately... yes the the Germans are very good too -sometimes I forget Wim Wenders is part of that movement because of how inherently American 'Paris, Texas' is
