Of all awkward injuries possible, I managed to slam my throat onto a steel bar at work today and now my throat is bruised and it hurts. Don't ask how it happened, very unfortunate circumstances
@Elric Aladdin Sane
probably put it 3rd on my Bowie list ahead of StS and behind Low and Heroes. Tryna complete 70s Bowie since I only heard about half of it

Just hearing it now?
Yeah the weirdness of that album never really gets old

only ones I didnt care for are the Stones cover and Jean Genie, rest are pretty good to great. What should I expect from the Pinups/Diamond Dogs/Young Americans trio?

yeah that pointless stones cover shouldve been relegated to his s***ty covers album he did that year
i deleted it long ago
avoid pinups altogether tbh.. the song choices are amazing to me as a british invasion stan but he didnt do any of them justice which is weird considering he was on absolute fire that year.
Diamond Dogs is pretty similar with more of an apocalyptic orwellian vibe. also underrated, even according to @RASIE
he switched styles entirely (inspired the Philly soul sound that was v popular at the time) for Young Americans and title track a contender for his greatest song but the rest of the album struggles to reach that height. couple bangers. is the bridge between his rock era and the more soulful performances on STS.

I will prob listen to all of them just to finish my graph. I didnt realize how little Bowie I've listened to.

Young Americans is flames
“I GOT 56 B****ES, I GOT 51 B****ES, I GOT 13 PROBLEMS, I GOT B****ES THAT’LL SOLVE EM, I MIGHT BE A MATHEMATICIAN CUZ THE MONEY I BE GETTIN”
Listening to For the first time now since the hype has slowed down a bit. Not entirely sure how I feel about the album in general, it's definitely good tho, but Sunglasses and Science Fair are awesome songs. Especially the latter half of Sunglasses always gets me.

yeah, Aladdin Sane is underrated when compared to Hunky Dory or Ziggy Stardust.
I like Diamond Dogs. It's definitely the glam album that captures the alienation Bowie would explore on his later albums best but it can also be unabashedly derivative. To a point it's obnoxious. That depends on my mood though.

A mon told me Lodger is one of his best joints
