Liked the listening party leaks so I'm extremely surprised by the extremely negative reaction (ok, the lyrics were far from his best to put it mildly but I liked the music. Then again he also sung more than usual so whatever.) Going to listen to the album. Hoping here I like it.

Even then, it's Ye and I will probably overrate it regardless and just accept how poorly it's done like with Ye weeks after despite emotionally affecting me. Ghost Town is still a great track even though it sounds like a rough demo. In fact, it might be the roughest track on the entire album tbh.

Holy s*** the transition from no malice's verse to that sax solo is so f***ing awkward

Ok first listen through and it's clearly somewhere in the bottom 3 of his discography lol. It's not super trash but the mixing is pretty s***e at times, the lyrics are obviously not really my cup of tea (although good for ye forv doing something he wanted). The songs kinda feel like rough drafts, so it's crazy to think this took over a year to make. At least ye was made in like 2 weeks so the rough sound was accepted.

If this is the type of music he'll continue making then I probably won't love another ye album like I used to but that's ok. His solo album run from 04-16 is one of the best of all time imo. ye and JIK aren't trash but to me they are a step below the rest

I have zero doubts that this album will updated like TLOP. Alot of the transitions are shoddy, the mixing is laughable, quite a few verses aren't really matched that well to the beats of the songs

done with my first listen. Mastering is garbage, every song has interesting and powerful things going for it but they sometimes feel as if they were played at double speed and they are all way too short, lyrics are meh but I didn't expect much on that front. Overall the album sounds schizophrenic and hyper-active af and definitely not the spiritual experience he was going for. In fact this album sounds so absolutely insane I kinda dig that. Quite a wtf album I didn't expect even though I have listened to the leaks a few times before.

Yeah I wasn't getting many authentic spiritual vibes. Whereas songs like "Jesus Walks", "Ultralight Beam", and "Never Let Me Down" sound authentically faithful yet still authentically Kanye. This album sounds like a man brainwashed by the church and forced to deliver God's message
