What are some albums you guys have listened to in specific/important/sad moments in your life that have been negatively/positively boosted because of that certain time of listening? I remember listening to Hop Along's 2018 album near the end of a relationship the same year and find it weird and kinda hard to listen to that album even though I didn't listen to the album with that person. Charli XCX's Pop 2 reminds me of running in the snow because it was a regular listen when I went for winter jogs last year (something I unfortunately opted against this year). Music can be a crazy non-visual time capsule. Sad how certain music can be ruined/ harder to listen to when listened to during rough times or opposite where a certain album motivates you from a past experience
I know it’s a simple choice but Hospice when my aunt was slowly dying of cancer.

I listened to Julien Baker's Turn Out the Lights a lot at the end of a breakup a few years ago. It's a sad album anyway buy I still can't hear it without associating all those emotions I had at the time with it. And Frightened Rabbit's The Midnight Organ Fight was in heavy rotation at the same time, but that was cathartic more than sad.
I listened to the whole of David Comes to Life while doing a half-marathon last year and now I can't put it on without wanting to just f***ing sprint down the road
And there's loads of albums that transport me back to specific places I've travelled. Life of Pablo is just getting hammered in Prague to me, latest Dino Jr is a 2 week road trip in sketchy van, and for some reason Brand New's Deja Entendu is what I chose to put on while walking round a Mexican village hungover, after everyone in my hostel found out that I'd pissed the bed. I can't listen to that one anymore, too much shame.
i got heavy into neurosis after a nasty breakup a few years back. it's not the main thing i associate those albums with anymore but it definitely helped my mindset at the time.
machina is a big love album. makes me think of a few people.
i bet on sky makes me think of being really drunk from 2013-2017ish. nothing specific really, just being wasted 24/7 and trying to f*** as many girls as i could. fun days.
the fragile was those 'post-high school just lost touch with half of my friends' months.
the dusk in us made me think about my future and maybe growing up a bit.
I know it’s a simple choice but Hospice when my aunt was slowly dying of cancer.
Not albums but songs that I remember being severely unhappy at the time I was listening to them therefore not able to enjoy them properly.
I would tell myself 'one day I'm going to be happier than I am today and I'll remember how s***ty I felt listening to this song before and how incredible it is listening to it now.'

I was on a plane after being cheated on by my first gf listening to 25 by Adele (this was like a week after it came out) and I was crying so hard I had to turn my hoodie around to cover my face.
