Playing Bowsers Fury and realizing this is the design philosophy that 3D Mario games have been building too since 64, experimenting with trying to translate the old mechanics while creating new ones. The future of the series is a mix between this and Odyssey I think.

I dunno it's fun but not dazzling me yet. Still prefer either other type of Mario platforming so far. Just found the helicopter hat though so if they keep introducing new mechanics like that it'll be pretty good.

I think it’s the blend of ideas and mechanics I’ve been wanting. It seems more like a proof of concept then anything. I love the idea of interconnected levels where there’s no loading screens and the platform challenges are everywhere. It’s more the potential I see in it then the actual game itself. Still fun tho.

I just got to the snow island so I'm not immersed yet I guess. It's is a cool ideas as long as they feel distinct enough... which they don't yet.
