Wire deserve more props for this one
!https://youtu.be/1Fq-56TdMcwngl they kinda lost me after pink flag besides a few songs (Outdoor Miner and Map Ref). guitars always sound cool but arent making sounds that i want to listen to. doesnt help that the vocals sound absolutely atrocious to me when paired with the direction they went in
maybe my next post punk phase ill revisit and like them more
classic
listening to this album for the first time and recognizing the Lil Wayne Receipt sample

anyone heard of this band? Dropped their first album tonight. holy s*** this song is insane.

Had never heard of them before a few weeks back but the hype in the UK press has been pretty big for this, which is usually a bad sign. I like what I've heard though and will check it out today. More excited for the new Weather Station

i meant the direction they went with the 2 after pink flag, i havent heard anything after 154 either
that kind of (british) non conventionally good singing with post punk is usually pretty hit or miss for me

the songs i listed sound like totally different bands so im surprised neither sound good to you

just really doesnt connect with me for some reason
atmosphere, songwriting/melodies, vocals, nothing besides the guitar tone compels me to want to listen. besides the occasional moments of a catchy guitar part or something. i like the riffs and short energy bursts of pink flag much better. i dont really dislike it though, just cant seem to understand why it captivates everyone. seems like the greatness might lie more in subtlety but i havent been able to grasp it yet
as for post punk bands that start with Wi- and have 3 main albums, Wipers is ten times better

yup. they sound a bit like Slint with a sax on top of it fronted by a less eccentric James Stewart. However, I like it so far. They find interesting and energetic ways.
@Aruji The Damned
One of the Losey's i aint seen yet
It was goooood. I actually expected a horror film but it was more of a classical Sci-Fi-horror in the vein of OG Invasion the Body Snatchers, The Thing from another world etc.. (not necessarily thematically but the way the horror is portrayed. Extremely abstract by using the Sci-Fi element as an explicitily stated commentary on the Zeitgeist's dangers.).
i heard one of their singles and it was cool, gonna check the album out
what are the chances you could track down a digital copy of Bo Diddley's 1962 self titled album for me? ive exhausted all my options and it only seems to exist on vinyl
cant remember ever hitting such a dead end when tracking down an album
