TELL MY BABY I'M BACK IN TOWWWNNNN
@Aruji i haven't really cared for many of scruffis recent higher ratings, but a couple recent ones I like are the Lonker See albums and especially that Government album Shitshitshit. Sometimes reminds me of Seirom's 1973 but the pieces are fragments of cool little musical ideas (both tense at times and hilarious (snippets of funny Kanye and David Lynch moments
) opposed to 1973's predominately tense/atmospheric longer songs.

@Koala did u ever have those ps1 underground discs? This theme was hard

I had a few of these. One of them had the Metal Gear Solid demo.
Ay fam, where did you watch that Ford film Seas Beneath? Out of the people i follow on LB, only you and one other person have logged it (and there's only 182 logs for it total).
I found a pretty solid quality vimeo link of it just now, but i was wondering where you watched it cause it seems to be pretty rare

The only one of those i ever had was one my uncle left me when he moved, and the only game demos from it i can remember are Blasto, Tomba, and Tekken 3.
I know it had more demos on it but those are probably just the only 3 i played a s*** ton or something. That disc is probably also the only reason i still remember that Blasto existed in the first place
I never got the full game of Tomba tho
I always wanted to play the whole thing
This game was my S*** on ps1 tho. I played it more than most of the classic games on that system tbh:

I didnt even know that it was part of a larger series until several years ago when i was looking it up. Still havent checked out any of the older/later entries (though IIRC i think it was a point-and-click adventure on PC or something before Skullmonkeys)

haha idk if it was the underground disc but those demos were a big deal coming from N64, had me like

Vudu
Vudu
How was the quality of it on their service?
I occasionally use Vudu because sometimes they happen to have some harder to find older/indie/non-english films for a reasonable rent price.
But i'm also super cautious about renting certain films on it (particularly pre-70s stuff)... Multiple times I've rented films from their site that have both HD and SD rental options (with HD usually being $2-3 more), and I choose the HD one. But when I play it, it's clearly not HD — most of the times this happened to me the film was even close to 720p
That bullshit is even worse to me than Prime Video's million s***ty uploads of older movies lol — at least on Prime they don't literally advertise the option for HD (and I'm not paying extra money for it on each individual film I wanna watch on Prime).

It didn’t look great, but for a movie from 1931 that probably hasn’t been remastered since the late VHS/early DVD era I thought it looked decent enough. Definitely not Detour on Prime pre-Criterion quality, if that’s what you’re asking

haha I had that one too. I think Jersey Devil was on that also. I played Blasto like once. S*** was f***ing hard

Yeah i def dont expect it to be Hd considering how lesser known it seems to be haha but i was making sure Vudu's didnt look like black and white Tetris
Here's the Vimeo one I found, if you can tell any significant difference in quality between it and the Vudu copy you watched:
I scanned through it earlier and it looked surprisingly decent, especially compared to pretty much every non-tracker video I've seen of Ford's Judge Priest...which is wayyy more known than Seas Beneath but every streaming option of it looks like a f***ing theater cam bootleg from 1935

Yeah i dont remember much about blasto other than the one (?) level you play in that demo
I had always thought Blasto was just a huge failure and thats why the game never developed into a series like Crash Bandicoot or Jak. But i actually found out a few months ago that the game was received fairly well and had a bunch of commercial hype behind it, but the developers sorta created Blasto with Phil Hartman's personality/voice in mind, and formed a great relationship with him while making the game — but then he died, and they didnt want to make another Blasto without him
And i dont remember how hard it was, but i believe you cause one of the only common negatives among reviewers was that it got extremely difficult at times haha
