Since 2009 he's had an interest in intricate wordplay that I don't think he ever gets proper credit for, his Potato Salad verse is a great example (washed Rocky btw), but even on Wolf, which I said ITT I don't find much appeal in, his rhyme and reference schemes are crazy

May 29, 2021Smacked VoodooConsistently "eh" with one truly great album that stands out among the rest of his so-so or flat out boring projects. And I say that as someone who has listened to way more J Cole than they did Nicki Minaj.
I’m biased but I believe outside of Cole World sls, Kod was his only somewhat misstep and even then it’s an ok album imo. Only Nicki albums I could probably rock with other than PF is Pink Print. She’ll have a song or feature here and there these days I’ll bump but Cole is more important to me. I’ll give Nicki the edge when it come to sales and influence tho. That I can’t argue against.
