May 29, 2021Teal_you had to be there to get it. i hate to say that but it still feels like people started paying attention to him with flower boy when he was giving us solid bodies of work since 2009. some of it hasn't aged well , but there's more to it than that
No I literally was there, I was hyped when the Domo23 vid came out, but I played the album through so many times trying to get it to click and it just didn't, I liked the Jamba beat, Answer, Trashwang was fun in a dumb way, IHY was great, but the rest blurred into this mess where I couldn't pick anything apart, I really wanted to enjoy it
It's weird, I remember this real palpable feeling at the time, even stuff like Rella was a mini-event, when Tyler did something EVERYONE paid attention, then with Cherry Bomb it faltered and I legit thought he'd fallen off, but now that feeling is back and stronger than ever
