was a 4 year release window between skyrim and fo4

granted they got more workers now

so probably starfield 2023, elder scrolls 2026/27, fallout 2030/31

dropping a game in 2030 would be hard tho

they’re broken into multiple teams. not to mention the people working on starfield now are the technical side, fixing bugs and stabilizing the build.

the artists and writers have mostly moved to working on elder scrolls. It’ll probably be out in 2025.

Fallout 5 in 2027 around the time new consoles drop.

Aint no way that's dropping in 2027 lol

FO4 dropped in 2015, and 76 being as s***ty as it was dropped in 2018

They would've been primarily been focused on starfield for how many years seeing as 76 would just be using assets from 4

and as these games get even more bigger and intense as projects, the longer it takes to get performance and bugs down. which as we already know bethesda games launch with tons of bugs to begin with

ur wayyy behind, it’s already confirmed 76 was a different team than the starfield one

they probably have had a fallout 5 team working on pre-production since 2016

starfield dev started 10 years ago, around the time they were making eso, fallout 4, etc. which all had different teams.

Todd said the game is in pre production, which is the just conceptualization phase and writing they haven't even started actual development on it yet

As someone who works in game development, that’s a bit silly, often the longest part of game development is pre-production

A lot of things have to be completed in pre-production, such as the entire plot and all the dialogue, so when production starts you can begin casting and recording voice and motion capture

You often have a full playable build of the game in pre-production, with the voices performed by stand-ins, no music, cutscenes missing, environment unfinished bug-ridden, etc. but you can beat the game

Also in this case a big part of pre-production is the creation of the new engine which was completed for all 3 projects simultaneously, which saves on development time between each starfield, ES6 and fallout 5

In 2010 they were in pre production on Fallout 4, whilst working on Skyrim obviously as we know present day.

Right, so we're in production on the new game, and we have a design going for the one after that.

    eurogamer.net/bethesdas-todd-howard-interview?page=3

"In August 2010, Todd Howard revealed in an interview with Eurogamer that Bethesda was working on two projects; one had been in development for two years (beginning after Fallout 3 was released), and the other was still in pre-production. It is now known that the title farther along in development was The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. There is still no confirmation on what the second game is."

Bethesda Game Studios announced on Bethblog (dead link) on April 15, 2013, that they had completed all new content for Skyrim and were moving the studio's attention to an as of yet unknown title that had previously been in pre-production since 2010.

    fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout_4

Fallout 4 didn't come out until 5 years later, in 2015. Todd Howard stated that it was in pre production back in 2010 to eurogamer. Currently we know they're working on the next Elder Scrolls, so that probably won't drop for another 2 or 3 years at best. So there's no way FO5 drops by 2027 then lol.

I mean hell it was 5 years between GTA V and RDR2, these large games take these studios time, it's not like it's Pokemon. 3 year gaps between Scrolls and FO is wishful thinking

In. Hope it’s on ps5/6 too.

They have more employees, support from Microsoft, more experience, etc.

Since they’re broken into teams now fallout 5 has probably been in pre production for years already.

starfield goes gold soon and ES6 moves into full production, all the concept artists and writers from that game will shift to help the people currently working on fallout 5

it’ll be similar to how they juggled the games previously and dropped

    oblivion - 2006
    Fallout 3 -2008
    Skyrim -2011
    Fallout 4 -2015

Not necessarily, passing the torch often works for video game series

Miyamoto directed the first Zelda’s but then passed it to eiji eunoma who directed ocarina of time and then eventually passed it to fujibiyashi who directed botw

yea probably way down the road. ive been hearing about Bethesda, pre MSFT purchase, adding studios to their own portfolio and how it would speed up the timeline, but that never really came to fruition. the MSFT deal is still young, but overall it does not make business sense to release games so quick. if SF is 2023 ES6 will be 2028, and FO5 2030+. the goal is to for the game to have longevity and people playing it for 5+ years without feeling like they need a new game.

that being said, yea FO5 is prob in pre production of some sorts. I know they just did Boston, but i think NYC would be cool lol.
