    shambles ensue

They've given him two Best New Tracks before so I doubt it's hate

Sam Hyland is one of my fav P4k writers rn for sure - I ultimately somewhat disagree with how critical he is, but can say he's extremely spot-on with his criticism.

which is that ultimately he's making his sound a formula on this and ends up with a project too monotonous to capture the excitement of how unpredictable the tracks from his loosie run were.

I think that's definitely true, but still think the sound he refined on here is a very interesting one and he refined it well. this ending up with a 6.3 to me kind of exemplifies the case of a project which dares to do something kind of experimental getting double the hate bc the experiment is flawed instead of recognizing the value of what it's offering in a sea of slop

you don't get an e for effort bro

finding value in something for being a unique ambitious and experimental work, something we want more of and should encourage is better than s***ting on it for having flaws, flaws doesn’t mean that the only thing it contributes is the fact he did a concept or something he achieved making something that is truly that

No one who’s defending the work is merely applauding the effort though, it’s pretty apparent that he successfully gets his point across

Even that old white dude who reviews music got the point while going in blind

"Conversely, the self-produced Terrified . places a losing wager: sacrificing the range Fakemink does have to make room for a singular statement he cannot yet make. The result is an overlong album whose monotonous palette—percussive and groggily sleazy, as if Black Kray studied Snow Strippers instead of SALEM—illuminates its struggle to say anything whatsoever."

I been saying the Tales on the website s*** on anything on the album.

Like damn those tales are poetic and full of soul. Why couldn’t the songs have such conviction ?
