yea really resonating with a lot of the writing on here genuinly creep and tell me what your missing have been looping in my head all day

  • for ppl saying oh this is ass or alright how is he gonna talk like that why was he talking like that if its like this i was expecting a classic

guys when an artist says they like their music that is expected, as they are making it for themselves so whether they achieve making their dream album or not dont mean you should take it as a serious actual like logical assesment of how ppl are gonna receive the album. They just made the exact type of s*** they like and are hype about it and put a lot of work in it. I wouldn't take that as a serious promise in a roll out its clearly just someone being ambitious and loving their work.

easter pink was super cool / fun when I heard it

And londons savior was honestly fine,

but with his long twitter message along with some of the comments in here and in general almost validating it (generally trying to decode a 20 year old who can’t go a song without talking about how much money he’s making) like he’s some deep artistic genius really makes me feel like ~

im either genuinely getting old OR the bar from what people consider “deep” or “artistic” or “conceptual” is seriously declining.

After listening to terrified twice I think fakemink is an ok, (and young so it’s not a big deal) rapper and producer making very normal and predictable music, (at least in his genre / scene) who somehow convinced himself that he is a genuinely deep, special, misunderstood, conceptual genius because hes way more popular and successful then his peers and (even I can admit this ) he does sort of VISUALLY have the aura of the “next thing” (kinda like how jai Paul had it in early 2010s except he was actually making singular, genuinely innovative music)

I hope really hope he gets better and more self aware and humble as he grows because although he says he don’t wanna be making music at 30 (they all say this) I genuinely do not believe this guy will last, musically speaking.

tbh i feel like mans are just not really paying attention to what hes tryna do and i get that cuz because of the scene hes from and the surface level its easy to miss i get that but

The reason hes flexing is because A. hes literally in hell an indulging in sin on the album, it's about his progression from Hell (LA, the music industry, losing himself in sin) through purgatory to heaven (his home in essex, his morals etc) B. hes gonna do that soemtimes he is a swag rapper at his core aside from the fact hes very genuine and earnest and all that doesnt mean to just ignore all the other substance he clearly has its a very intimate portrait concerning his morals, his habits, his relationship to his career, his love for music, his grappling with persona, his flaws, where he comes from etc

ppl are recognizing that even if its flawed because hes a new artists and its ambitious and s*** its still something special and his previous work all cosigns all that and he shows incredible talent esp with how if not anything else its undeniably incredibly unique to make an album with no actual rage beats or many actual cloud rap beats or drill but takes influence from all of these things thats mixing, lyrics, beats, structure, wording, etc all serve in purpose for the narrative and self expression that comes off very earnest and honest. Let alone framing his struggles and journey with fame and his position in such a colourful grandiose way especially.

the one thing i dont get at all tho is it being normal and predictable, rewind sounds like a sgp blvcklvnd radio 66.6 pt.2 beat almost and hes talking about gouging a serpent out of the ribs of his chest and being crushed by the weight of the lies he had to roll with for sucess i could go beat by beat flow for flow and it all is very novel and like not rly in line with anything else i can think of right now. Especilaly with the fact its all produced by himself.

he could’ve went the easy route and made an album that was appealing to masses but chose to explore a sound that was true to himself. the production really embodies the theme the album is trying convey, it really feels like we’re getting a peak into minks mind on this one. i truly love how personal the lyrics are on here, it kinda gives us a glimpse on how rage could develop more depth outside of the usual jargon it’s known for.

the rage influence is sooo interesting yea cuz its like he takes rage synths or 808s an dmixing individually and makes a whole song that isnt rage out of it its really wild lowkey. Engineered by osamason's engineer too

  • unironically one of the best albums of the year so far

  • Rewind beat is very 2016 sgp coded
