Correct data, biased outcome. This is basing off the amount of times trucks/rails spill, one massive leak in a Keystone pipeline and it's over. It would be a national pandemic.

i was told we needed a reason to pass additional domestic terror laws and it was guaranteed by intelligence agencies we had to rush to pass these laws to identify domestic terrorists targeting politicians. where are they, clearly they must be somewhere since we need to military to keep occupying the capitol

there's no ulterior motive beyond what i said. there was mass hysteria expecting something to happen and a push between sections media and some politicians to use it to justify passing new laws. nothing happened or was even hinted at happening. so either our intelligence agencies are really doing such a great job they thwarted every single planned terror attack from radicalized decentralized cells in "all 50 states" and they didn't need the new laws to begin with, or the entire thing was over-hyped nonsense and the new laws are not needed regardless.

A simple presence would discourage most of the bullshit that was planned. We saw what happened when there wasn’t a presence. Are you saying that this should have been handled with kids gloves? There wasn’t any serious legislation passed and nothing happened. I’m not sure what you’re trying to make into an issue.

It’s not like this was used as a justification for another Patriot Act. What exactly do you take issue with?

I'm saying the cultural damage that the hysteria from this has done could have been easily avoided without accelerating an ongoing culture war which pits civilians against each other diametrically when tensions are already high.
It's not as if had this not been riled up they would have had the administration out there without any form of security. There weren't even peaceful protests, not less violent ones.
And yes, I am aware no legislation has passed, because they simply haven't had time yet, Of course they weren't going to write and pass something in 48 hours; if you haven't seen the politicians trying to cite domestic terror to rally Patriot Act 2.0 laws you either haven't been keeping up with political media at all or you've been willfully ignoring it.

Seems like you’re upset that the feds took a serious threat seriously after people protested and beat a cop to death.

Do you doubt that these people ever planned to protest again. Do you disagree that the national guard should have been deployed to get ahead of this behavior?

Yeah sure is weird how people storm the capitol and one cop dies (and one protestor gets shot with live rounds) so politicians who can't be assed to help the majority of the country anyway should suddenly have the land they walk on sanctified and have the entire capitol occupied with the national guard followed by our media telling us we need to pass patriot act 2.0 and political affiliates putting out ads saying half the country is terrorists, but we have multiple months of rioting over the summer (i don't care if the cause was justified or not) including people trying to break into the white house as well as explicit violence aimed at civilians and torching police precincts and no one in the media or politicians tried to pass any laws or gave a s***.
It's almost like this culture war and the hysteria around it is complete f***ing bullshit being clearly manipulated by the caste that benefits from diametric civilian opposition because while we're arguing on forums over if i should even remotely give a s*** about politicians who can't even come together to send more than $2k in stimchecks after almost a year of crushing economic situations nationally without including bailouts for their insider trading bonds and corrupt banking sector overlords, they're looking for ways to expand their power yet again even more

But the ieda that a bunch of 50 year old unarmed idiots loitering inside of the capitol for 2 hours shuold make me give s*** about politicians on any level or justif any form of socio-political realignment when months of explicitly violent protets did not is absolute f***ing bs. there is no way you can sit here and tell me you cannot see the rhetoric of the media and of those who beenfi tfrom the media changing in real time even when its clearly contradictory. there is clear social manipulation going on by the media-political class over the past few months and it's no a conspiracy theory to poit it out especially when its so blatant
