Thats sebastian lmfao a producer
Why did I think it was Trevor Noah all this time
like how are u unable to do this minimal task for ur girl if it’s that important to her, even more so if it’s basically nothing to you??? pisses me off so bad and everyone in her justifying this is a toxic psycho who has never been in a healthy relationship
Yeah, it’s annoying as f***.
Reminds me of those pretentious European backpackers that think they’re dropping knowledge, but they’re just talking a lot of bullshit.
it makes sense next song is one where he sings with a robotic voice with that vocoder so he kinda saying that he wanna be close to you in person but technology alienating niggas i guess
but like 3 years thoooo
like at that point is it still impossible 4 u 2 do small favors 4 ur partner? like following on facebook would take like 20 minutes, why tf wouldn't you just do that s*** 4 her sake?
The skit makes sense. Yes you'd be like "Why didn't he just add her" but the thing about social media, it's a relationship killer. Brings in so many unnecessary variables to take into account and argue about.
I for example have had several girls I was with, get upset over things that I post, take memes to heart, overthink my posts, and get upset over girls reacting and commenting on my posts. All these issues which could have been avoided had we never jumped into each other's digital space.
i will bet my life savings on you just really being an imbecile who plays
Maybe it doesn’t belong on the album but the guy had a point. Obviously adding her on FB isn’t a big deal but if she’s going crazy about it and accusing him of cheating it’s a red flag for the relationship
''She told me like, uh, "It's, it's over, I can't believe you"
I said, "Come on, you're crazy, because like, yeah
I'm in front of you, I'm every day, here in your house''
Then accept her you weirdo? Mf acting like it's a big deal to add someone on facebook. Super trash skit where he thought he had one
it was to be taken as satire no? even if the story aint 100% real it did it’s purpose
“Be yourself”, a skit about the danger of d****, comes right before “Solo”, a song about doing d**** to cope with loneliness and isolation.
“Facebook story”, a skit about a breakup, comes right before “Close to you”, a song about a breakup.
It’s that simple.
I think SebastiAn didn’t care much about this girl. I think he subconsciously wanted to end things with her which is why he got her upset and refused to “aggzept ‘er on Fazebuk”. And I think this relationship had major issues. I mean she obviously didn’t trust him and thought he was cheating right away. So this stupid Facebook thing revealed huge issues in their relationship.
i feel like the song does have a point to make about how expectations have changed in dating due to tech, but i also think that the song's message would've been perceived as more significant if it was released in 2012 or 2013 or smthn like that. mby it wasn't trying to sound significant and all the slice-of-life ppl doin interludes are just frank throwing in some real life recordings, i dunno
Accent drives me mad makes me wanna punch a frenchman in his baguette ass face
so French got a baguette for an ass or a baguette for a face?
@Ithaka what kind of insight can you give us brother?
''She told me like, uh, "It's, it's over, I can't believe you"
I said, "Come on, you're crazy, because like, yeah
I'm in front of you, I'm every day, here in your house''
Then accept her you weirdo? Mf acting like it's a big deal to add someone on facebook. Super trash skit where he thought he had one
I don’t think the person telling the story is supposed to be the “protagonist” of the skit. I always read it as them both being shallow. Him being weird about adding her on Facebook, her making Facebook a big deal.
tbh tho I take her side that dude is a weirdo.
The only way I would even begin to justify it logically is if by “accepting” he means creating a profile and adding her. If he’s stating he has one and doesn’t add her it’s stupid and there’s no way you can convince me otherwise
Ive always understood it as the guy does have FB but only uses it to talk to family or friends in othet countries or cities. He sees no reason why he should add his girl because theyre together almost all the time so it dont make sense to him since to him, social media is about connecting with those you cant on a regular basis.
That said i do think it was dumb of him to not add her if it clearly meant that much to her.
HOWEVER, i also think she was stupid and clearly didnt really love him if she was willing to leave him or something small like that.
So the meaning of the skit can be interpreted as being something bad for relationship since it broke them apart, or you could see it as a good thing since it helped prove that they both didnt love each other enough to compromise on the smallest issue
