i dont think its a dumb thing to ask, ive been wondering the same thing myself. if its for blackmail purposes then you wouldn’t even be able to take whats in it at face value.

there is no "list". iirc the whole idea of epstein keeping a "people i filmed doing s***crimes" list came from some fringe right wing talk show/podcast and it found it's way into mainstream right wing politics because the current establishment are all addicted to twitter
there are kinda 2 groups now when it comes to "the list"
group 1 - people who refer to "the list" as a literal physical document that epstein kept, despite there being literally zero evidence of that ever existing
group 2 - people who refer to "the list" as a compilation of implicated names that has been created by the government during their investigation and that probably exists somewhere

they have literally hundreds upon hundreds of cd's and hard drives from epstein's various properties, which most likely contain an untold number of filmed s***crimes. that cross referenced with everything else they've collected (pictures, letters, emails, phone calls, travel logs, itineraries, etc) would allow them to identify people and the roles they played. the same way they'd identify the structure and members of the any other organized crime org
