Hold up, who said the words “concept album”? You said “something conceptual” and “a taste of a concept”, not a Pink Floyd style concept album.

Even this blue green red thing wouldn’t make it a “concept album”

It’s more of an artistic framing and conceptual angle for the project, remember, not all albums with concepts are concept albums.

Nothing Was The Same was designed to be played backwards (way before damn) and was inspired by the film Momento, the two different album art works represent adult Drake looking back, the “Guy pierce in momento” lines, a reflection on how things changed in his life.

And you’re not going to accept this because you’re a pretentious loser, but CLB is a pretty obvious comment on toxic masculinity and Drake said it himself in the roll out. But yall don’t like that content or take it seriously so it’s brushed off as just silly or random. But that album has themes and a concept running through it 100%.

And again, you’re gonna try to laugh this off and dismiss it, but For All The Dogs also has interludes all throughout it linking the album together with the “dog” theme, but that doesn’t count as a concept cause it’s not about screaming in a hotel room right?

Weak ass “concept” for the album that sounds like the concept for literally any Drake project ever made

Show this to a random person after letting them listen to each Drake album for the first time and they would have no idea which album it was describing

When Kanye drops bars like “she just bleached her a******” people bend over backwards to give it an artistic justification and fit it in as some sort of concept

Drake don’t get that same benefit but those lyrics and themes for CLB were so intentional and honestly fit the title and artwork really well, the project clearly has conceptual cohesion even if you think it’s corny. But people can’t separate those two things, they think to be a concept it has to be super deep

And ok so because it relates to things drake usually talks about, that means it can’t be conceptual? You don’t know how to assess this because you’re letting personal taste cloud the objective discussion of what a concept is
