I’ll sign up for the free trial if it comes with a free meal
Pascal also wouldn’t make sense as a co-lead with Danny Ramirez because the movie is specifically about a corrupt cop who has an affair with a non-white character, so “Having two Latinos in the roles doesn’t make a lot of sense,”.
Phoenix allegedly also tried to pull out of various other productions in his career. “In 2019, he tried to back out of The Joker at the last minute. He did it again in 2021, with Mike Mills’ C’mon C’mon, and again in 2023, with Ridley Scott’s Napoleon.”
Haynes’ producers have considered suing Phoenix for a sum in the seven figures.

What a mess. Hopefully they’re able to find a replacement
Idk maybe Joaquin can invest some money and attach himself as an exec producer to save face for this whole thing

A decade ago yeah but I don't think he was as difficult back then. Napoleon was his first performance in years that I gave a f*** about tbh. he's kinda washed. Joker one of the worst movies of all time.

It's my first time hearing about his shenanigans and I've been caught so off guard lol. The first Joker really was a right place right time kinda film, on top of the controversy.
The Piano Lesson is sortof a crazy play IIRC from the one time I skimmed it, glad to see they’re keeping the fantastical/supernatural stuff at the forefront and bringing sort of a horror movie tone. Could be good!

Did not know it had a supernatural element to it. Haven’t watched trailer yet

It's just that Master/Her/Inherent Vice run that put him on a rare plateau but he didn't keep that energy unfortunately. Sisters Brothers his last classic and that was ages ago.
